This division undertakes the moulding of components using DMC (Dough Moulding
Compound) and SMC (Sheet Moulding Compound). The manufacturing process involved
are compression moulding and transfer moulding. The components are manufactured
& engineered as per customer specifications and designs.
DMC & SMC are reinforced with fibre and hence the moulded components provide very
high mechanical strength. The component can be designed and moulded into complex
figures that provide excellent electrical resistance. A smooth and controlled
surface finish can be achieved in the manufacturing process. DMC & SMC material
provide good di-electrical and flame-resistant properties. Due to its high
demand, the composites are available in various colours.
Due to its excellent performance, SMC & DMC components find multiple
applications. Markets serviced include the Electrical Switchgear industry
(mainly LV & MV), Automotive, Railways. Components currently moulded include
OLTC parts, motor parts, VI housings, Electrical Meter Housings, LV Insulators,
Cable supports, Busbar supports, etc.
